On The Edge
The apparent movement in this subject led me to try to paint the jacket, her hair and the grass in gesso to give it a degree of relief before painting.  The result was extremely pleasing

Rose
This picture appeared to be a rather complex subject which had so much light and shadow interaction that I just had to try and capture it on paper.  It is of a friend, Rose, at Dodges Ferry.  Painted in 2018.

Slow Day at the Market
This painting is of a couple of old boys at the market in Cuba.  There was so much of interest in this composition and it was an ideal subject for me to make a further attempt at mastering the techniques I learned  from Ross Paterson.   Painted in mid 2015.

Street Dancers - La Paz
This painting depicts street dancers witnessed in La Paz, Bolivia during 2011.  Celebration street parades and street dancers are commonly seen throughout Bolivia and Peru where it seems any excuse gives cause to the donning of colourful garb, striking up the bands and partying as they roam through the streets making as much noise as possible.   Painted in late 2013

Watercolour, Size: 340x520  Framed, Overall size:540x730.  Price $750   SOLD

The Apprentice Luthier

Watercolour, Size: 320x500, Framed, Overall size: 560x720   Price $540

The Potter
What attracted me to this painting was the light on his clothing, mirrored somewhat with the pots and the overall composition which draws you in along one hand and then points you to the pots.  This picture was of a Nepalese potter.  Painted in late 2015.

Watercolour, Size 460 x 340, Framed (museum glass) Overall Size: 700 x 590.  Price $950

Window  Series - Girl in Yellow
This was my second attempt at an acrylic on terraskin using gesso to give the effect of water running down a window and the viewer being on the inside.  with this technique, I allowed the paint to run down the page as water would and it channelled itself along the lines of the gesso under-painting.  Painted in 2017
Acrylic on Terraskin, Size 440x660, Framed, Overall size: 600x900 Price: $1200 Commission

Window Series - Red Umbrella
This painting was inspired by looking through the glass windows at the National Gallery of Victoria in St Kilda on a rainy day.  While the window features water running down the outside of the panes, the effect was made even more pertinent on a rainy day where the people outside were sheltering under a red umbrella.  The actual glass in the frame has been etched on the inside to create the idea of a window pane.  This idea led to the Girl in Yellow.  Painted in late 2013.

Acrylic on Terraskin, Size: 420x620 FramedOverall size:660x840. Price $1200  SOLD
